Gentle Prenatal Yoga Practice

Rae Holmans,

Lead Instructor

During a time of constant change, comfort can be found in something steady. Yoga offers just that.

Each week we will focus on:

-Building breath awareness

-Gaining confidence in your body

-Connecting with your baby

-Strength and downward energy

-Learning to be present

-Easing into motherhood

-Home practice, healing

-Postpartum considerations

This series is designed to support you through the joyful and ever-changing stages of pregnancy with gentle yoga postures and breathing exercises that will nourish and strengthen you. As you prepare for your baby’s birth with a community of mothers-to-be, we’ll settle into the steadiness of your breath, slow down and move with attention & intention.

We can modify poses for all levels of yogis and stages of pregnancy. This is a chance to be both challenged and supported as you prepare your mind and body for pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Classes are structured with exercises and yoga techniques to help promote a healthy pregnancy, keep the mind clear during labor and ease women into motherhood.

Regular attendance offers expectant mothers the opportunity to practice these exercises consistently to bring you the many benefits of prenatal yoga like:

  • connect with your baby

  • build stamina
  • improve strength + balance
  • strengthen your coping techniques
  • increase blood flow
  • find your intuition
  • reduces stress and worry

Our prenatal yoga classes are for healthy women in uncomplicated pregnancies and can be safely attended up until the start of labor (to your mobility and comfort level). Participants should wear comfortable clothing and should bring a yoga mat, pillow, small blanket or towel (COVID requirement - as a cover to use studio props) and water to class.

Your provider’s approval is required for participation. Our participant waiver and physician approval for participation forms are available. Expectant mothers must bring both signed, completed forms to the first class they attend.
