What is Reiki?
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe practice that promotes balance of mind, body and emotion. The practitioner is able to stimulate the body’s natural healing ability by lightly placing hands over the patient’s body. Reiki is used to ease pain, anxiety, fatigue, depression and many other symptoms while promoting relaxation.
A typical reiki session last from 30 to 90 minutes. At your first appointment you’ll meet with your reiki practitioner and discuss the process and your expectations. Let the practitioner know if you have any injuries or places sensitive to touch. You then will be instructed to lay on a treatment table. There will be soft, relaxing music playing in the background. During the session there usually is no talking going on but you are more than welcome to let the practitioner know if you are in need of something to feel more comfortable. The practitioner will start moving their hands around your body, sometimes with a slight touch. Your body may experience a heat sensation or tingling. Each session is a unique experience.
